Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce at Business Exchange

The Hispanic Chamber of E-Commerce has the opportunity to participate at the 2009 San Diego Small Business Awards Luncheon & Business Exchange organized by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. There were 80 tabletop exhibitors, including the HISCEC. Some of the participants started to refer to the HISCEC as the “Virtual Hispanic Chamber of Commerce”. We don’t have anything against that title. The luncheon had over 900 attendees.
We had the opportunity to meet business leaders from the San Diego County area. The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce is the biggest Chamber of Commerce in the San Diego County area. One of the Masters of Ceremonies was Dr. Ruben Garcia, San Diego SBA District Director. The SBA invites you to learn more about the Recovery Act 2009, some of the highlights are:
- Temporary elimination of fees on some SBA-backed loans.
- Increased SBA guarantees on loans up to 90 percent.
- Additional funding for SBA’s Microloan Program.
- Financing available for start-ups or existing small businesses.
